That's the nice thing about games. As long as you enjoy them, who cares what other people think?

Games' qualities differ in eye of different beholders, if you'll pardon my Cliche! for the moment. But most people do have common preferences.
Edit: Highway Crossing Frog is a nice classic, too.

Hardly a classic, heavily flawed, quite possibly the glitchiest game ever to hit the shelves, an abysmal combat system... and yet... I loved it. Most of the reason for that is that the World of Darkness is my favourite setting ever excepting the ridiculously awesome Age of Sorrows and this gets the feel of WoD down perfectly. Fantastic graphics couple with superb voice acting and overall presentation make this for my money the single most immersive RPG I've ever played. My one major complaint is that I couldn't go Tzimisce.

All the massive cheating and hacking in D2 turned me off. So much so that I sold off my disks and key soon after LoD came out. Did they ever fix all that?

Well, yeah. Unless you were playing OPEN b.net, in which case you can use a sloppy hack on your single player character and have him be invincible online. Closed B.net is fine, they even banned a lot of maphack-users lately.

Age of Empires 1 (I played that game sooo much)
Transport Tycoon (Now that's a real classic, but I love it!)
Freelancer (Still can't stop playing...)
CnC Generals (Might not have marked the game industry, but it was my fav game for long)
No specific order. I still play Freelancer, Generals. The other two aren't compatible with XP

I'd have to say my favorite was Halo. The sheer intensity of playing Halo Multiplayer with 16 friends (via LAN, in my case) is unmatched.
